Fugues

Fugues are special objects represented by meeples. There is a Fugue for each card and area type.

If you have a Fugue, all of your Spirit cards also count as cards of that Fugue type when making Sets.

Fugues are useful because they stay in play and make it easier to create Sets.

Example: If you have the Passion Fugue, the Set shown in Figure 7a would play the same as if it was the Passion /Passion (/) Set below (Figure 8).

Figure 8

When you use a Spirit Set, you will take the appropriate Fugue and place it on your Player Board in the “Fugue Value” section shown below.

You can only have one Fugue at a time.

Pro Tip: You can create Fugues for your opponent too!

Fugue Point Value

Some Fugues also have a point value. If you have a Fugue at the end of the game, add (or subtract) its point value from your total. *Note: Spirit cards can’t go into the Passion Area or be scored.*

Destroying Fugues

You may want a different Fugue than what you currently have. Also, you may want to remove your opponent’s Fugue.

Fugues are destroyed (removed from play) by using the same Spirit Set that was used to create them. You can destroy your own Fugues, or your opponent’s Fugues.

OR

would destroy a Passion Fugue.

The Spirit/Spirit Set can destroy any Fugue.

When a Fugue is destroyed, it leaves play, but can be created again.
